The Pea Coat: A Modern & Classic Piece For Your Winter Wardrobe

DSC_0114DSC_0127DSC_0135_editedDSC_0163DSC_0110DSC_0125_editedDSC_0173Brunch with your friends on a bit of a chilly and dreary morning calls for a blush scarf and a classic pea coat. While you catch up with your gals, your cup of fresh coffee and this delightful little coat will keep you nice and cozy. A pea coat is the perfect alternative for your classic trench on those Winter days  when you need something a little more heavy to bundle up in. Ditch the ridiculous trendy parka which makes you look like an Eskimo and grab your modern yet chic pea coat for a tailored classic look.

The pea coat combines modern and classic vibes for a fabulous New York City girl style. Even street style experts, such as Taylor Swift and  Olivia Palermo, have stunned us numerous times with their fabulous pea coats. This timeless piece has been keeping the modern classic girl stylish while bracing the cold since the 1700’s. A wool blended jacket, typically double breasted, is one of my favorite pieces for the Winter months. Sticking with a neutral color, like I did with black, gives your coat the ability to be worn and loved for years to come.

My personal favorite pea coat is this black, short, lined, wool blend one I purchased H&M. (Old. Similar here) This piece has been in my closet for quite a few years now and has helped me remain my classic stylish self through the Winter months up until Spring, when I can finally break my trench back out. I typically don’t shop at H&M because I don’t usually find much, but I did manage to see this jacket there for a great price plus the quality really amazed me! I have been able to style this coat for casual days of shopping to fancy dinners out with my family. I chose to style it here with a blush blanket scarf and matching sweater, for a more casual look as I head out on this cool Winter day daydream of Spring!sign-off-for-blog-post
