Beautifully Healthy: Favorite Foods For Glowing Skin

Every day first thing in the morning I follow a skin care routine, sometimes the products change depending on seasons and how my skin is but I always stick to a routine. This has helped me achieve and maintain my beautiful skin but, in the past year, what has really helped boost my skin and make it as clear and glowing as it is has been my diet. I enjoy eating as healthy as I can, I believe by putting beautiful foods in my body they will produce the same beauty through my hair, skin, and nails, and they have! Since I decided to really focus on healthier foods which will help me glow, I have noticed a huge improvement in my skin! My face always seems to be clear and gorgeous, I rarely have a break out, and I have these delicious foods to thank!

 

Blueberries

High in both vitamins A and C and, an excellent source of antioxidants, and they taste like little sweet drops of heaven, making blueberries are my one of my favorite foods, especially for healthy skin! Blueberries are such an easy and healthy food to add to your diet if you want to have glowing skin, I enjoy adding them to yogurt, salads, or having them as a snack with some almonds (another great food for your skin!). In the Summer I enjoy having fresh blueberries but when the Winter comes (and their price sky rockets) I have found frozen blueberries to be just as enjoyable, making me able to enjoy my lovely berries and maintain my beautiful skin!

 

Spinach

I am not going to lie to you, I could eat spinach all day every day and not complain once because I love it so much. I adore the taste of spinach and love all the lovely vitamins it’s packed with, such as vitamins A,B,C,K, magnesium, and antioxidants, making this food your skins best friend. By adding spinach to your diet, you can help your skin improve it’s complexion, slow down aging, and help repair and even out your skin tone, plus you get to eat delicious spinach! My favorite way to enjoy spinach is to make a chicken salad with spinach, grilled chicken, blueberries, strawberries, and top it off with oil and balsamic vinegar (Pro tip: marinating your chicken in oil with cinnamon makes this salad even better!). If you aren’t into salads, add a handful to a delicious smoothie along with blueberries and almond milk for a skin boosting treat!

 

Walnuts

With nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E, walnuts are another one of my favorite tasty foods to help me have smooth and lovely skin. Omega-3 fatty acids help your skin retain moisturize, keeping your face hydrated and glowing, which is wonderful especially with Fall beginning. I enjoy adding walnuts to salads to give them more of a crunch or I pair them along with blueberries for a healthy snack! Walnuts are a simple snack for work or school, they are easy to slip into your purse and munch on as you work or you can sprinkle them on your yogurt in the morning!

 

Bell Peppers

Orange and yellow bell peppers are by far one of my favorite foods to help me get gorgeous glowing skin! They are so refreshing and delicious, they pair well with chicken (aka my favorite protein), taste amazing with hummus, and are perfect additions to salads! These fabulous colorful peppers contain so much vitamin C, each time you eat one your skin thanks you. The vitamins which peppers contain help stop pre-mature aging and help your skin glow. I love snacking on peppers with a little bit of hummus or adding them to stir-fries to help it become more colorful and delicious (Tip: chicken, peppers, pineapple, and this turmeric quinoa together for the best stir fry ever!). I have noticed since I started eating more peppers, my skin looks absolutely clear and gorgeous! They are such a simple food which offer so many beautiful healthy benefits!

 

If your skin care routine isn’t working or you skin needs a little extra boost and you’re not sure what to try, add some of these beautifully healthy foods to your diet. By treating your body to these lovely foods, it will thank you by helping your skin become clear and glow like the sun! It is important to give your body the nutrient it needs through whole foods so it can be as beautiful as it can be!
