Turmeric Face Mask

Turmeric is one of my favorite spices to use.  It gives food a delicious spicy taste (don’t believe me? Try my turmeric quinoa recipe) plus it also helps my skin look beautiful. Yes, that’s right, I put it on my face.  Using turmeric on your skin has so many amazing benefits such as, helping clear acne and simply lightening your skin. It can help sooth a sunburn and get rid of unwanted facial hair. This spice is seriously magical.

With summer quickly approaching, it seems everyone wants to have healthy, clear, glowing skin. But how are you going to get that clear glowing skin that makes you look as radiant as the sun?! I mean you could use some foundation and a highlighter but, let’s be honest, being able to achieve glowing skin naturally is way more fun.  That’s why, my lovely friends,  I am going to give you my favorite turmeric face mask recipe! This mask will help you achieve that beautiful clear glowing skin! It is so easy to make plus it’s fun because you get to rub an orange paste on your face making you look like a monster. Ah the perks that come with beauty products!

The reason why turmeric clears your skin and helps lighten it is because it contains antibacterial and anti- inflammatory properties. These properties help reduce, skin pigmentation, inflammation, and blemishes.  By reducing these properties it helps your skin become clear and radiant! Pretty cool that just a simple spice can do that right? (Oh did I also mention that these properties also help reduce aging, thus making you look younger?).

Turmeric Face Mask

  • 2 Tablespoons of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric
  • 3 tablespoons of milk
  • a few drops of honey

In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together to create a paste.

Next, apply a thin layer of the paste to your face.*

Let the paste dry and leave it on for about 20-25 minutes.

Finally, rinse off mask with warm water, scrubbing gently to remove it.

*Be careful while applying mask making sure you don’t get it on your clothes because turmeric stains.
